Mevagissey is a charming fishing village located on the south coast of Cornwall, England. It lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is a popular tourist destination.

The village has a long history, with the earliest evidence of settlement dating back to the Iron Age. It is thought that the name Mevagissey derives from 'St Meva' and 'Porth sulphur' meaning 'Port of Sulphur', as the area was known for its sulphur mines.

The village began to flourish in the 17th Century as a fishing port and trading centre, with the harbour being built in 1606. The harbour is still a large part of the village today, and is home to numerous fishing boats and pleasure craft. The harbour is also a popular spot for visitors, with a wide variety of restaurants and pubs offering a great selection of local seafood.

The streets of Mevagissey are lined with traditional whitewashed cottages and independent shops. There are also several galleries featuring local artists, as well as a variety of souvenir shops. The village centre also boasts a number of historic attractions, including the Mevagissey Museum, which houses a collection of artefacts, photos and documents that tell the story of the village.
