Whitsand Bay, located in the south east corner of Cornwall in England, is a stunning and popular holiday destination. Its soft, golden sand beaches and clear, turquoise waters attract visitors from near and far. The bay is part of the Rame Head Peninsula, which contains two Sites of Special Scientific Interest (SSSIs). The endangered cirl bunting, a type of small, sparrow-like bird, can be spotted in the area.

The bay is made up of two main beaches. Whitsand Beach is the larger of the two and is a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing, picnicking and rock pooling. The beach has been awarded a Blue Flag for its cleanliness, safety and excellent facilities. The smaller beach, known as Portwrinkle Beach, is a quieter spot and is mainly used by local fishermen.

The views along Whitsand Bay are spectacular. From the beach, visitors can admire the dramatic cliffs, lush green hills and the wide expanse of the English Channel. On a clear day, France can be seen in the distance.

The bay is an excellent spot for a variety of watersports. Surfing and paddleboarding are popular activities, and the bay is also home to a number of scuba diving sites. Kayaking, sailing and windsurfing are all available here. Visitors can also take boat trips out to the famous Eddystone Lighthouse, which lies just off the coast of Whitsand Bay.

Whitsand Bay is also an ideal place for walking, with a number of coastal routes on offer. The South West Coast Path runs along the bay, offering spectacular views and plenty of opportunities for wildlife spotting. There is also an inland route, which takes walkers through woodland and farmland.
